• What is a music supervisor and why should I hire one?

• How much is this song?

  There are a lot of variables that go into the fee a copyright holder will quote for a synchronization use and there are no set prices. We can help provide the right information and negotiate the price.

• I want to use a song that’s pretty old, so I think it’s in the public domain. That means I don’t have to pay for it, right?

  Not so fast! Just because a song is old, doesn’t mean it’s in the public domain (and it may not be as old as you think!). Each country has different laws regarding copyright duration that can get quite confusing. We can help you navigate this labyrinth and do the necessary research!

• Can you create a playlist for my brand?

  Yes! We’d be happy to work with you to find the sound of your brand and come up with appropriate playlists or commission original songs.

Questions from Music Makers/Rights Holders:

• What’s the best way to submit music to you?

  Email us a sampler of what ya got! Use one of the many great services out there, like Box.com or Hightail, to send us a selection that you think best represents your music (whatever you do, don’t attach anything to your email!). However, there is simply not enough time in the day to guarantee you a response. We highly recommend you get connected with a licensing company who will represent you in licensing. Do some research and find one that is the right fit for you! If you are responding to a search request, ALWAYS send downloadable music (not just streaming) so we can input it into our system. Please make sure to read the guidelines for submitting music and for suggested metadata.

  We want to be able to find you if we want to use your music!

• In your search request, you mention the country where the licensor is located (such as ‘UK Licensor’). Why does that matter?

  The Licensor will be licensing from that country on the license, so you must be able to sign a license to the designated country as well as receive payment in their currency. Also, please make sure that you do not have a sub-publisher that licenses on your behalf in your country that we would have to go through instead!

• Should I check in with you to see what you’re looking for?

  Unless you haven’t worked with us, please don’t. We’ll come to you when we need to.

• Is there any wiggle room in the suggested fees I see in your search?

  Unfortunately, no. We budget out each spot with production before going out to y’all with the fees. Please make sure what you submit fits these parameters! We won’t be offended if you have nothing to send us.
